Alexa Lopez
Alexa Lopez is currently working at Ivy Tech Community College as the Assistant Director of Admissions, but is still continuing her long line of political work and activism. She is involved in the local Monroe Democratic Party, and is very excited and energetic to work with women to help get women elected to office and more involved in city and county commissions. She has worked on several campaigns such as John Kerry's, President Obama's, a few of Congressman Baron Hill's, and Mayor Mark Kruzan. More than anything, she wants to see women in those positions and that is what she strives to do with this position in the Steering Committee. There are many organizations under attack, including Planned Parenthood, which is included in the War on Women, and she strongly believes in putting a stop to those attacks. The DWC was one of the organizations that reached out to her as a young freshman and college, and after attending many of the meetings and events, she is looking forward to serving the community and helping to get women more involved in government and the community.
