Sandi Cole

Sandi Cole  D-6
I am running for City Council in District 6 because I believe that District 6 deserves strong, responsive representation. As a public servant in the educational arena for over 35 years, I have learned that leadership requires not just a sense of responsibility to the position but also a relationship of trust between yourself and those you are serving. I am committed to listening to all constituents of District 6 and to keeping it a vibrant, inclusive part of Bloomington.

Dorothy Granger

Dorothy Granger  D-2

Dorothy Granger was most recently the Director of Development for Planned Parenthood of Indiana and previous to that, the Executive Director of Girls Incorporated of Monroe County. While "new" to the Bloomington political scene, she was actively engaged in her younger days, rallying and fighting for the ERA. (who remembers that?)

Regina Moore

Regina Moore  City Clerk

Regina Moore, who has served as City Clerk for the past eleven years, has filed for re-election in this year's election. Her statement:

Serving in this office has been a very rewarding experience, and one I would like to continue. When I began, my objective was to contribute to a more open and inclusive government. I want to continue to provide an office where citizens are welcome to access their government.

In addition to the legislative duties of Clerk, I have served as a source of information about local government to school children, scout troops, adult groups, students of leadership, and foreign students. I have also taken government to classrooms, forums and citizen gatherings on the IU campus and schools in the area. I believe that citizen understanding and participation enhances city government, and in my role as Clerk, I've strived to encourage citizens to apply for and participate in the city's boards and commissions.

The Office of the City Clerk literally serves as the front door to many citizens' practical experience with government. We need to continue to build on the past and create an even more responsive city government where everyone feels welcomed and each person is valued.
