ACTION ITEM THIS WEEK

WHAT A WEEK WE'VE HAD!
TWO forums held in City Hall by the League of Women Voters, one held in Ellettsville, one Democratic dinner celebrating Democrats with State Chair John Zody and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.  Breakfast Friday morning ended the work week with former Lt. Gov. Kathy Davis visiting to inspire us with her unflappable, firm call for more women working in government. Kathy's views mirror ours, and we were so honored to have her speak to us early on a Friday morning.

This afternoon a community gathering place on the courthouse south side was dedicated to women in government in honor of Sophia Travis and her work in government. Friends of Sophia Travis, a 501(c)3 organization, along with sculptor and artist Dale Enochs worked for about a year to put this plaza in the place of three older wooden benches.  Take time to share this great space with your friends and family!

What are you doing on Election Day?
For the last several elections the DWC has organized an effort at the polls for our endorsed candidates.  We're doing that again this year and hope you will participate by passing out a little voting card to voters as they come to vote. It's a great way to meet people and promote not just our candidates, but the DWC and the work we do with women candidates. If you can lend an hour or two, please contact Penny Githens at [email protected]

Hospital Community Outreach Committee to Host Two Public Input Forums
