Our Endorsed Candidates need to see friendly faces at the Candidate Forums

The audience at the most recent candidate forum was comprised largely of Republicans. Since many of the questions come from the audience, it's crucial that we fill the seats with friendly faces who can ask the questions that will bring out the best in our endorsed candidates.

2016 GOTV (Get Out The Vote) Driver/Rider Project  -- A Monroe County Democratic Party Program
Do you have a car and would you be willing to drive someone to the polls for early voting or on election day, or to help people get an ID or get registered to vote? 
Do you know someone who needs a ride or needs help getting registered to vote?  Volunteer Days/Hours vary depending on your work, school, personal schedule, location, and availability. Drivers and riders matched based on locations. Call Pat Slabach at 317-796-1820 and leave a message, or email at [email protected]

ELECTION EQUIPMENT TESTING
Election Central will be conducting the public testing of election equipment on Thursday, September 29. Testing will begin at 8:30 am and should be completed around 1:00 pm.

Local Democrats Launch African-American Caucus
A group of local Democrats have started a local chapter of the Indiana Democratic African-American Caucus (IDAAC). Organizers say they formed the new organization to increase representation of African-American voters at the polls, and to raise the participation of African-American leaders in the local Party.  “We are working within the Democratic Party to bridge the gap between public education and political action.”
The group, IDAAC-Monroe County, will meet on a monthly basis. Individuals interested in getting involved are encouraged to contact Nicole Bolden at (812) 361-1005 or e-mail to [email protected].

Lt Gov Candidates Forum on the Arts & Quality of Life

A live event exploring the positions of Christina Hale (D) and Suzanne Crouch (R), Candidates for Lieutenant Governor, on the arts and quality of life issues and their relationship to the development of Indiana communities and the State economically and culturally.  The event will be moderated by Joe Hren and taped for broadcast.  Produced by WTIU/WFIU Public Media.  Sponsored by IU SPEA, home of IU’s Arts Administration Program.

• Log on to your candidate's website to find ways to help YOUR candidate of choice
• Display a yard sign at your home
• Attend a Candidate Forum
• Write a Letter to the Editor about why it's important to support YOUR candidate of choice

• Help your candidate campaign door-to-door, passing out literature
• Offer a ride to the polls to others who are supporting your candidate
• VOTE - it's the best thing you can do to help ensure that YOUR candidate is elected

Julie has helped SO many women with advice, hosting fundraisers, serving on their committees, and leading the caucus. Please send her your best yard sign locations, and offer to put them up for her!
