Democratic Women's Caucus Chair

Regina Moore currently is serving her third term as City Clerk for the City of Bloomington. Her more formal political activities began in 1992 and have continued through many elections on many levels. She has served as precinct committee chair since that time, and served as the Vice Chair of the Monroe County Democrats with three different Chairmen. My commitment is to the Democratic Women's Caucus and to making opportunities available for women in the political sphere. From my days as the MCDP Vice Chair, I remember many meetings where I was the only woman participating, or one of two. There have been city elections where only one or two women ran for City Council, and of course there were three years where the Bloomington City Council had no women members. We've participated in making changes on these fronts, but we need to continue to demystify the whole political process and energize women to participate at higher levels in government.
