Democratic Women's Caucus - Bloomington, IN

Dear Members and Supporters of the DWC,

As we approach the end of 2025, we write to share a momentous and heartfelt update: the
Democratic Women’s Caucus will be winding down its Political Action Committee (PAC)
status by year’s end. As a PAC, the DWC is an accountable state entity for raising and
dispersing funds to political candidates.

We are terminating our status as a PAC, but we’re not going away. Rather, we are shifting
our emphasis to the other aspects of our mission.

Founded in 2005 with a bold and urgent mission—to see more women elected to local
office—the DWC has spent the past two decades transforming the political landscape of our community. And we have succeeded! Today, women not only run for office in record
numbers, they lead campaigns, serve on committees and commissions, and mentor the
next generation of changemakers. The face of local government has changed – and you
helped make that happen.

This milestone is not just a reflection of our collective effort, but a celebration of every door
you knocked on, every candidate you supported, and every voice you amplified. We are deeply proud of what we’ve built together, and grateful for your passion, your time, and your belief in the power of women's leadership.

Earlier this year, we surveyed our members and then gathered in June for the DWC
Summit. Through those conversations, the Steering Committee reached a thoughtful and
unanimous decision: it is time to adapt. Therefore, the Political Action Committee (PAC)
aspect of the DWC will formally conclude its work at the end of 2025, including the
responsible dispersal of any remaining funds.

What should the DWC become? Members expressed a desire for an organization that
would empower women in political life, advocate for inclusive public policy, and provide leadership training and capacity-building programs to prepare women for political roles.

Those aspects of our mission will continue. We’re always open to hearing from you, so if
you have questions or ideas, or even better, want to volunteer to help shape the next
phase, reach out to Jill Jolliff ([email protected]) or Regina Moore
([email protected]).

This is not an ending – it’s a new beginning. The DWC has always been more than a PAC.
It has been a movement, a community, and a catalyst for change. And while our
organizational structure will shift, the spirit of the DWC lives on in every woman who steps
forward to lead.

Thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey.

With gratitude and admiration,

The DWC Steering Committee
